Fitted with an easy to use power operated wheelchair hoist that facilitates simple powered entry, and a smooth ride designed for the wheelchair passenger. It has a large lift capacity of 300 kg so is able to lift the heaviest wheelchairs and passengers.

There are many safety handrails for the wheelchair occupants and lap and shoulder seatbelts to ensure passengers are looked after in the rear of the vehicle. There are also handrails for the second row seats as well as power windows A/C, airbags, central locking, child restraints. Toyota Hiace Wheelchair Feature

The Hiace has a Toyota factory designed, engineered and installed rear electric hoist. The hoist was manufactured when the vehicle was built so the fitment of the hoist into the vehicle is seamless. The hoist electrically moves backwards out of the rear of the vehicle and lowers to the ground. A small aluminium rear ramp lowers and the wheelchair passenger can move onto the ramp.

The hoist is deigned so that once the wheelchair is on it the hoist can be lifted to the carer's waist height. They can then move around the hoist attaching the restraints to the wheelchair and putting the lap and shoulder seat belt on the passenger without having to bend over.

The ramp wheelchair restraints have been fitted in Australia with four point Q Straints which meet Australian Design Rules. You can see these on the photos above. The straints are quick release slide and click QRT Retractors which effectively hold the wheelchair front and back.

There is a second wheelchair position inside the vehicle which the wheelchair passenger can transfer into if required. This position also has 4 Q Straint quick lock and release points.
