I get a little frustrated by people labelling the Holden Cruze as unreliable. To be fair and honest the first generations most certainly were and I understand that's where the foul taste in the mouth lays. Though by the time the last generation and even towards the series 2 generations were making way, naturally like all companies the Manufacturer works out the bugs in mass.

So what can be said about this now. Well by the time in 2016 when they were made here in South Australia less major problems seemed to be evident. Now whether that's more attention to detail in the factory when put together or the last series had gotten rid of said bugs, more importantly it comes down to how they're maintained, like anything else - that's my honest opinion, otherwise I wouldn’t choose to stock them.

The first point I'd like to make about this car around the 'maintenance' remark I made previously, is that this 2016 SRi-Z Series has a full set of Bridgestone Potenza Tyres. They are not cheap and certainly the previous owner has not skimped out on the upkeep judging by that.

Secondly, the FULL service book of Franchise service stamps bar the last one from me (alongside my safety check and Vehicle Report Card) and the TWO Factory Keyless entry Key Fobs with Remote Start function is again the proof of the ownership this vehicle has endured.

The Interior has no signs of heavy damage in high wearing zones, the exterior still pops bright and shows no major imperfections, but the choice of the SRi is the creature comforts inside the cabin. Features like Push Button Start, Reverse Camera, Satellite Navigation, Heated front - partial leather with Alcantara inserts and full Steering Wheel functionality.

The Exterior has a bunch of nice touched like Chrome Highlights on almost all panels, LED running lights in the front bar, Halogen Fog lamps, Rear Spoiler on the top of the hatch, Indicators in the Wing Mirrors and a series of badging stating the 'Flagship' offering of the range.

The 1.6-litre 132kW/230Nm turbocharged four-cylinder gets the 1467kg hatch moving nicely, and when driven with a bit of vigour, is almost (dare I say) fun. The suspension works like it has a wider stance than it actually does, holding corners and inspiring confidence to tackle at speed and you always feel a sense of surety and connection with the road, while not compromising on comfort.

See if the Eddie Experts are wrong about the Holden Cruze, because the ones I've sold have been great for my customers.
