Japan's luxury people mover, built around the second row rather than the
front. The G F Package is the well-equipped grade: beige leather throughout,
wood-grain trim, and second-row captain's chairs with powered recline and
ottoman leg support. Never sold new in Australia in this form.

Toyota's 2AR-FXE 2.5-litre petrol-electric hybrid drives all four wheels
through the E-Four system. Instead of a transfer case and tailshaft, a second
electric motor sits on the rear axle and sends drive rearwards the moment the
front wheels lose grip — real traction on wet roads and gravel without the
fuel penalty of a conventional four-wheel drive. Toyota rates it at 18.4 km/L
on the JC08 cycle, and most owners see 8 to 9 L/100km in Australian traffic
for a vehicle of this size.

Power sliding doors on both sides, a power tailgate, heated front seats, a
heated steering wheel, driver's seat memory and a 100V household outlet. The
third row folds away to the sides for a flat load floor when you need the
space instead of the seats.
