Nothing to be Hyper Blue about here, a great snapshot of the colour of the skies we are currently experiencing. Now you could be soon jetting off into the changing colour of the sunset in your capable little AWD Subaru XV.

What a colour to liven up the yard, Hyper Blue was a great introduction to the Subaru Duco range and was shared with the likes of Flagship models like the WRX. Any real dealer knows that a good, yet different colour demands a price tag, and this blue little machine is a standout.

A fantastically kept portrait of good health for 160 kilometres, it owns a FULL service book with majority Franchise dealership, and a few independent strewn across its journey. TWO factory keys still accompany the books and the Hyper Blue duco sings on the Adelaide streets.

Whether it's Tangerine or Hyper Blue, these colours seem to resonate with the type of demographic that are in search for that image. A handy little AWD number with a great amount of clearance, they are somewhat more capable than you think for the quick weekend getaway you lust for after a long week.

Very little needed in its reconditioning journey, just very basic used car attention, a credit to the owner for using it, but not abusing it. That owner being a middle age woman, that I can only assumed upgraded to newer opportunities.

In 2015 cosmetic changes included new chrome highlights on the front bumper, and revised clear-look tail-lights with LED inlays. More subtle updates include new steering wheel-mounted audio controls, silver accents around the air vents and on the climate control dials and metallic finishes on the front arm rests.

Further, the safety story for the XV ticks the boxes of seven airbags (note: an earlier version of this story stated six airbags), stability control and a standard reverse-view camera across the range.

Under the bonnet remains the 2.0-litre four-cylinder horizontally-opposed ‘boxer’ engine, which produces 110kW of power and 196Nm of torque. The 2.0-litre and the CVT make for a good pairing, offering reasonable response at most speeds. The XV isn’t fast, though, with light throttle pressure at times making the naturally aspirated model feel a smidge sluggish. With a bit more right-pedal pressure the drivetrain is certainly adequate, and the CVT does a good job of keeping things moving at higher speeds.

The Interior gets an upgraded touch to the feel of the cabin and the Orange highlighted seat stitching make the part. One to consider if you wish to catch the eye of the neighbours.
