Description
A 7-seat all-wheel-drive Toyota SUV at a guide of $2,950 to $5,100. The Kluger KX-R is built on the same platform that underpins the Camry and Avalon, powered by a 3.5-litre 2GR-FE V6 producing 200kW and 337Nm through a 5-speed automatic with full-time all-wheel drive. When new, this was a $39,990 vehicle before on-roads.
The silver metallic paintwork is presentable across most of the body, with the main exception being the left rear quarter panel where significant scratching and paint loss extends from behind the rear door across to the wheel arch, with clear coat damage through to primer in places. The right front bumper corner also shows scratching and scuffing. Headlight lenses on both sides show age-related yellowing. Inside, the black cloth interior shows wear consistent with the kilometres, particularly on the driver's seat bolsters, but there are no tears in the fabric and the dashboard is uncracked. The third-row seats fold flat into the floor, giving genuine 7-seat versatility or a large flat cargo area.
Comparable 2008 Kluger KX-R models in cleaner condition trade from $6,400 to $11,660 depending on kilometres. At the current guide, this is a lot of Toyota for the money. The paintwork needs attention, the battery needs replacing, and the headlights need restoration, but the fundamentals are there: a 3.5-litre V6, all-wheel drive, 7 seats, and the Toyota name.
