The Porsche 997.2 Carrera S is one of the most desirable models of the 997 generation—combining timeless 911 styling, an improved naturally aspirated engine, and the involvement of a traditional manual transmission. This particular example was delivered new by Porsche Melbourne and is finished in Meteor Grey Metallic over a Black interior, presenting in exceptional condition throughout.

Powered by a 3.8L naturally aspirated flat-six, the Carrera S produces 283 kW (385 hp) and 420 Nm of torque, delivering power through a 6-speed manual transmission to the rear wheels. The 997.2 introduced a number of significant improvements over the earlier 997.1, Of note the engine timing now ran directly from the crankshaft; the IMS shaft and bearing were now a thing of the past. Other improvements came from Porsche’s direct fuel injection (DFI) engine technology, delivering improved performance, efficiency and throttle response.

Externally, the 997.2 Carrera S is distinguished by its larger 19' wheels, a 20mm lower ride height ( PASM suspension ) and larger brakes with their iconic red callipers. Styling also received a facelift, front and rear bumpers were redesigned and daytime LED lights were added. Inside, the driver-focused cabin combines quality materials, supportive sports seats a multi-function steering wheel and the classic 911 driving position.

Now recognised as a modern classic, the 997.2 Carrera S is particularly desirable for its combination of naturally aspirated performance, hydraulic steering, timeless styling and six-speed manual transmission. As manual 997.2 coupes become increasingly difficult to find, well-maintained examples are attracting strong interest from Porsche enthusiasts.

Of note, this car is fitted with a full Soul performance exhaust system which sounds fantastic without the dreaded droan.
