Description
This WH Grand Cherokee has been seriously built out as a touring rig. ARB bull bar, aftermarket suspension lift, rear drawer setup, cargo barrier, spot lights, sat nav, leather interior with power seats, towbar. Someone put real money into this setup, and for a buyer who wants a capable overland rig at a low entry price the accessories list alone is compelling.
The critical issue is disclosed upfront: the vehicle is currently in limp mode with low power. On the 3.0 CRD diesel this can be triggered by anything from an EGR sensor fault through to a more serious turbo or injection issue. It needs to be diagnosed before you put money on it. A steering rack leak is also disclosed along with signs of rust and marks and scratches. At 256,939 km the diesel has had a full working life.
At $2,000 to $3,950, if the limp mode turns out to be a sensor or software issue it is a genuinely good deal on a well-accessorised 4WD. If the fault is more serious, the ARB bar, drawers, and lift still have standalone value. Get a pre-purchase inspection done at Toormina, get the limp mode diagnosed, and then bid accordingly.
