Description
This 1985 Ford XF Falcon is one of the more unusual and eye-catching lots in this auction. It presents in full ex-police livery complete with POLICE decals on the bonnet, both front doors, and the boot lid, a roof-mounted rotating blue beacon with coiled power cable, and auxiliary lights across the front bar. Whether you want to keep the look or return it to civilian spec, this is a genuine head-turner that will not be ignored at any show or cruise night.
Mechanically, the car is sorted. Under the bonnet is the original 4.1-litre crossflow six, confirmed by the compliance plate (engine code W, built May 1985, Broadmeadows). The transmission is a 5-speed manual, which is the more sought-after combination in an XF and gives you a proper connected driving experience. Factory Ford lattice alloy wheels are fitted, and the car rides on a mixed set of budget tyres with some age-related sidewall cracking on at least one tyre.
