Info about this vehicle:

1983 Holden VH/K Commodore Wagon - Variety Bash Veteran
Fully outfitted Variety Bash wagon with five events completed, 5-speed manual conversion, dual battery system and comprehensive outback build. Ready for the next event.

Description

This is not a standard VH wagon. This is a purpose-built Variety Bash car that has completed five events, wearing its "Pink Ladies" livery and car number 2023 with pride. The amount of high-quality equipment fitted to this car, from the REDARC dual battery management to the custom dual spare wheel carrier, represents serious money and serious preparation for remote outback travel. Somebody has done this right, and the car has been fully serviced and is ready to go again.

The 202ci inline-six has been retained and paired with a 5-speed manual conversion for better highway cruising and outback flexibility. The tan interior is honest for its age, the headlining is solid with no sag, and the sills and door shuts appear structurally sound. All three compliance plates (ADR plate, Holden ID plate and Queensland Transport modification plate) are present. The Bash build is comprehensive: heavy-duty bull bar with Hella driving lights, LED lightbar on the full-length steel roof rack, aluminium ladder, rolled awning, amber beacons, spotlights, fog lights, work lights and an 8-switch auxiliary panel to manage it all. A custom dual spare wheel carrier at the rear holds two full-size matching spares on all-terrain tyres, with supplementary LED tail lights for rear visibility. Maxtrek all-terrain tyres on all four corners. UHF CB radio, aftermarket Speco tachometer with shift light, water temperature and alternator voltage gauges, Axis DAB+ head unit and a fire extinguisher complete the setup.

The value here is in the build, not the base vehicle. Replicating this level of outback preparation from scratch would cost well in excess of what this car will sell for. All it needs is a new team name and a fundraising target.
