Info about this vehicle:

1978 Holden HZ Limousine Conversion - 6-Door Extended Wheelbase by Creative Cars Adelaide
A genuine piece of Australian coach-built history. Six-door stretch limousine with 308ci V8, Trimatic automatic, seating for eight, built on an HZ Statesman platform by Creative Cars in the 1980s.

Description

During the 1980s, a small number of specialist workshops stretched Holden and Ford platforms into bespoke limousines for the wedding and hospitality industries. This example is one of those surviving conversions, built on what was originally an HZ Statesman platform and stretched into a six-door limousine with seating for eight by Creative Cars in Adelaide (Geoff Heard, operating 1980-1989). Known as the Glammer, it carries a Rolls-Royce-style front grille conversion with Spirit of Ecstasy bonnet ornament and quad headlights. Rare in 1980, rarer still today.

The vehicle is presented as a restoration or promotional project. The white exterior shows heavy oxidation throughout. Rust is active along the door lower edges, sill panels and rear quarter panels, with rust-through visible on the upper door channels of the rear doors. A dent and cracked paint are visible on one rear quarter. The headliner sags and the carpet needs replacement. That said, the door trims are intact in black vinyl throughout, the engine bay houses a 308ci V8 which appears complete, and the clear perspex partition between front and rear compartments is still in place. The interior features black vinyl seating across three rows with the stretched passenger compartment offering generous legroom. An aftermarket woodgrain steering wheel with novelty Rolls-Royce centre badge has been fitted. The HZ Statesman dashboard is complete with woodgrain trim, factory gauges, and an aftermarket Pioneer head unit. The odometer indicates 65,427 miles.

Vendor advises that only reverse gear is currently engaging, the battery requires replacement, and rust is evident in several areas. The conversion is attributed to Geoff Heard of Creative Cars in Adelaide, giving it traceable provenance for anyone researching Australian coach-built history. The price guide of $20,000 to $30,000 reflects the rarity and novelty value of the conversion, though the level of restoration required should be considered carefully.
