The Ford Capri Mk1 remains one of the most iconic European-inspired sports coupes ever sold in Australia, blending lightweight rear-wheel-drive dynamics with stylish fastback design and strong enthusiast appeal. This 1972 Ford Capri Mk1 GT 3000 presents as a well-restored and highly distinctive example, finished in striking orange with black bonnet detailing and equipped with the desirable 'Super Roo' Sports Pack option configuration.

This Mk1 Capri GT 3000 presents as a well-maintained and enthusiast-owned example with strong visual appeal and extensive restoration work completed during long-term ownership. The current owner has reportedly owned the vehicle since 2010 and has undertaken significant refurbishment of the interior, including restoration of the seats, dashboard, gauge pods, carpets and door cards. A period-correct AM/FM radio cassette player has also been installed, along with upgraded clear LED dash gauge lighting.

The vehicle retains the classic Capri styling formula, featuring a long bonnet, compact coupe proportions and sporty fastback roofline. Exterior features include painted black bonnet accents, long-range Lucas driving lights, Mini Light-style sports wheels, colour-coded racing mirrors and sports centre console with electric clock.

Power comes from a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. Vendor advises the original matching-numbers engine block was removed by a previous owner during preparation for motorsport and hill climb use, with a replacement engine block fitted alongside a Holley carburettor and upgraded front suspension. Importantly, the original matching-numbered engine block has been retained and will be supplied with the vehicle.

The vehicle is also supplied with an extensive collection of spare parts and accessories including the original engine block, boot seals, aluminium side trim, Weber carburettor mounting plate, oil filters, bonnet and boot lid FORD badges and additional miscellaneous items. Workshop and repair manuals, headlight covers and two keys are also included.

Vendor advises the vehicle is currently registered under historic registration, mechanically well maintained and driveable, with no current known mechanical faults. Several minor finishing items remain incomplete, including installation of side body trim, rewiring of the interior light, replacement of the windscreen washer bottle, fitting of a choke cable and repair of a small dent in the boot lid.
