Description
The W115 Strich-Acht is the car that built the Mercedes-Benz reputation in Australia. These were the taxis, the family cars, and the daily drivers that covered hundreds of thousands of kilometres on Australian roads and kept asking for more. This 1969 220/8 is Australian delivered and still wearing its original Hellblau paint, factory code 304, confirmed on the Daimler-Benz data plate riveted in the engine bay. The standing hood star is upright, the chrome vertical-bar grille is solid, and the boot-lid 220 and AUTOMATIC script badges are both present and correct.
The Hellblau paint carries decent gloss with no obvious rust-through or significant panel damage. The body is straight with consistent panel gaps across all four doors. Chrome trim is complete and intact with age-appropriate patina. Steel wheels with original pagoda-style Mercedes hubcaps are fitted with blackwall radials, and a full-size spare sits in the boot.
