Description
The Ranchero was Ford's answer to the Holden ute, a proper car-based utility that blended passenger comfort with load-carrying practicality. This 1967 example is the Fairlane 500 variant, meaning it rides on the longer, more luxurious Fairlane platform rather than the compact Falcon-based version, giving it that big, confident American stance that turns heads wherever it goes. Finished in a stunning gloss black over dark burgundy two-tone with bright stainless rocker mouldings tying it all together, this thing commands attention. The 289 badge on the front fender confirms the small-block V8 under the bonnet, one of Ford's most beloved engines of the era and the same family that powered the early Mustang GT.
Condition is genuinely impressive. The paint presents with deep, mirror-like reflections and strong gloss across all panels. The body is straight, all badges and chrome are present and shining including the front grille, bumpers, headlight bezels, taillight surrounds and side mouldings. The Ranchero script on the front fenders, Fairlane 500 badges on the quarters and the Ford grille lettering are all intact. Interior appears clean and light-coloured through the glass, and the leather seating adds a premium touch. Being a genuine LHD US import that has never been registered in Australia, it comes with vehicle import approval, which is the tricky part of the process already sorted. These Fairlane Rancheros are genuinely rare in Australia and even rarer in this quality.
