Description
Before the Holden ute, Australian farmers worked with these. The Vauxhall Velox utility is a genuine piece of Australian motoring heritage, and original examples are almost impossible to find. This one has been through a complete nut-and-bolt rebuild, properly documented with a full mechanical and body report available.

The Melbourne-manufactured Holden factory body was stripped to bare metal, professionally repaired, and finished in Midnight Black pearl. The genuine GM inline-6 has been balanced and fully reconditioned: 30-thou oversized pistons, crankshaft reground, block decked, head shaved 60-thou, mild cam grind, producing in excess of 40 RWKW. The gearbox was rebuilt with new bearings and fitted with a rare Laycock overdrive conversion, meaning this ute will cruise at 100kph all day. Brakes upgraded with CA Bedford twin leading shoes and a power booster. Running gear is all new: trunnions, upper joints, track rod ends, twin front sway bars, widened safety rims carrying American 195x15" whitewall tyres. Rebuilt radiator with electric fan. New laminated windscreen. Custom 58-litre fuel tank. Fully rewired with extra fuses. The ute tub has been renewed with a tool box fitted for practical use. Underbody spray for rust prevention. Two sets of keys, restoration photos, log books, and owner's manual all included.

A rare, properly rebuilt Australian working classic. The whitewalls, the black pearl, the Laycock overdrive. This is the one.
